[Abstract] Objective To explore the application effect of family support combined with psychological counseling in maternal nursing. Methods From January to December 2021, 96 cases of pregnant women admitted to the Department of Obstetrics, the Fourth People’s Hospital of Jinan were selected. The pregnant women were divided into the control group and the observation group by odd-even number method, 48 cases in each group. The control group received routine nursing during pregnancy and perinatal delivery, and the observation group received family support combined with psychological counseling. The mode of delivery (vaginal delivery, manual delivery, cesarean section) and depression before and after intervention were compared between the two groups. Results The vaginal delivery rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). After intervention, the depression scores of the observation group were lower than those of the control group at one day of postpartum and discharge, and the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). Conclusion The application of family support combined with psychological counseling in maternal nursing can effectively reduce the delivery mode of cesarean section and reduce the symptoms of maternal depression.
